BERLIN - Shop online retailing giant Amazon would no longer accept new applications at the application store in Germany, following a legal battle with Apple related to the use of the name of the App Store.
As we all know, Apple and Amazon has long been at odds due to the use of the name of the App Store. Amazon has arbitrarily accuse Apple trademarks App Store so use 'misleading' software developer.
In the first trial of the case, in early June, Judge Phyllis Hamilton, who presided at the trial claimed that Apple has not quite made the brand famous App Store, in terms of ownership as well as popularity.
However, Apple seems to be a little smile. The reason, the Amazon Germany urged developers not to post their creations application to get further instructions.
"For a while, we do not accept submissions of new applications from developers who are domiciled in Germany," the statement quoted the Amazon as PC Pro, on Monday (01/08/2011).
"We were forced to impose this restriction due to a lawsuit from Apple in Germany that seeks to forbid us to use the name of the App Store. We believe Apple's claims have no basis and were working hard 'against' them, "he added.
Furthermore, Amazon is hoping his side can start accepting new applications again "as soon as possible". But they do not give a detailed picture of the admissions process-related reasons for termination of the application.
